Vision Therapy Works
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding vision program and the positive impact it has had on Ashton. We have seen remarkable improvements in several areas, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the progress.
Since participating in the program, Ashton’s handwriting has improved significantly, reflecting greater precision and confidence. His peripheral vision has expanded, allowing him to engage more fully in activities. Most notably, we’ve seen remarkable improvements in his lazy eye, which has made a real difference in his daily life.
Beyond the physical changes, Ashton now approaches tasks with a more positive attitude, which speaks volumes about the effectiveness of the program. Your dedication and expertise have made a meaningful difference, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into helping him succeed.
While we are thrilled with these advancements, we are still noticing challenges with depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and using both sides of his body equally. We hope to continue working on these areas to help him develop greater balance and coordination. We would love any guidance or strategies to further support his progress in these aspects.
Thank you again for your dedication and expertise. We truly appreciate the difference you’re making in Ashton’s life and look forward to continuing this journey with your support. — Parents of A.S.

I am writing to express my gratitude for Dr. Wang and depth of knowledge and care that my son received during his vision therapy with her. My son had a history of anxiety, learning delays and several health issues including respiratory, congestion, constipation and affects to his nervous system. He had been incorrectly diagnosed with astigmatism when he was younger and was struggling to keep up with reading at his level and only wanting larger print books.
We had a visit with a new eye doctor in our town, and after a thorough exam that included his peripheral vision, his diagnosis was severe and would require vision therapy, and we were referred to Dr. Wang. His five diagnoses were confirmed by her during our evaluation, and included Ocular motor dysfunction, convergence insufficiency, suppression binocular vision, accommodation dysfunction and constricted field. Through her vast testing, we learned that our son could only see peripherally about the size of a quarter! This explained many of the struggles he had been having in school, and especially with his anxiety and health, as his nervous system remained heightened, and in overdrive all of the time.
We first started with her Syntonics light therapy program to help reduce his inflammation. We simultaneously followed her advice to change his diet and soon learned of genetic factors that were causing more inflammation for him. The light therapy helped him greatly and prepared his field of vision to receive the vision therapy sessions that we did for about a year and a half. Dr. Wang helped to advocate for my son’s IEP with his school, and help his team understand how his vision was impacting his learning, and how they could best help support him in school since his vision impairments were deemed not covered by the state. Our son attended weekly therapy sessions with Dr. Wang and we did various exercises at home and school. Our son’s vision improved greatly, as did his confidence, attitude about school and perception of himself as learner. He also started enjoying basketball and other activities outside of school. We later began separate PT sessions to help integrate his reflexes with a PT recommended by Dr. Wang, and that helped to calm his nervous system and continue to gain confidence with his vision and reflexes.
Our son has improved in all aspects of his life, and we are thankful for the program that Dr. Wang offers, and her continued support. I support her efforts to advocate for vision therapy to be a covered and recognized service, and for early testing to be added for children who may be suffering with this same diagnosis as my son. — Parent of M.V.

I am soon to be 69 yrs of age and have been doing vision therapy for the past eight months. I was diagnosed with convergence insufficiency at the age of 68 years old. I enjoy activities using ball on the string and the chart and bouncing the ball against wall. Another activity I enjoy is tossing a bean bag and catching it. but I do other activities interesting and challenging.
The activities have helped me become more awake of peripheral vision function and how it affects balance and visual acuity. My balance is improving and getting more stable when I exercise. When I walk, I have a little bug in my ear saying open peripheral. I am reading more than I ever have in my life. I always had the intention to read books prior to having therapy and would get frustrated.
I will continue fighting for gaining better vision as long as it takes. I can say that vision therapy has made me feel more confident in whatever I do. — Patient D.B.

Dr. Wang is one of my favorite doctors during my healing recovery. She is more than a regular neuro optometrist. Having a head injury and trying to navigate the road of recovery was not easy. I have visited multiple doctors, PTs, musculoskeletal specialists, and neuro Optometrists.
I love that she is very detailed. She has extensive knowledge of how our vision is connected to the whole body. Her vision program is very different from another vision program I had. She teaches her patients how vision skills are built from the foundation. It’s not only about eyes, but the integration with other muscles and nerves around our body.
During my time with her, I gained a better understanding of the missing points in my recovery and learned more about myself. Her program combines OT (primitive reflex), vision rehabilitation, PT, and lifestyle.
VT made me more confident in expressing myself and learning new skills. I am very impressed how learning become so much fun and easier after VT. Thank you, Dr. Wang! —Patient R.M.

Since my daughter has been in Vision therapy. Her teacher and I have noticed a significant improvement in her academic. In the beginning of the school year, she struggled taking math assessments and had difficulty reading. Within time, my daughter has done great taking math assessments and her reading improved. She is now reading on grade level. My daughter is more confident and less anxious when taking assessments for different subjects. My daughter has also become a great writer and scores the highest grade on her writing assessments. She also advocates for herself when she needs an accommodation or modification with work or seating arrangement. — Parent of M.C.

I am a 74 year old woman and I work on the computer daily creating and writing books, videos and educational programs. I love what I do and have no plans to retire. About 2 years ago, I noticed vision problems while on the computer, I thought my eyes were just tired. This issue progressed until one day I noticed a ghost image on the computer. I had developed double vision. I was afraid my life as a creator was over and eventually I would be unable to read and drive. Dr. Wang discovered that in addition to double vision, my peripheral vision has shrunk, my eyes were fighting for control, and my brain was suppressing conflicting information. If my condition was allowed to progress further, I would lose depth perception. I am now finishing Vision therapy with Dr. Wang and I am happy to report I can see clearly on the computer and without strain. and drive safely I am very grateful to Dr. Wang for retraining my senior eyes and brain to see clearly. –Patient M.S.

Back in July of 2023, I contracted viral meningitis, an infection in my brain. I was in ICU/hospital for about 3 weeks and then went to Gaylord for rehab for about 3 weeks. The meningitis knock me out, I could not walk, trouble eating and problems with my eyes. My biggest challenge was I experience problems with vision, movement and lack of sense of balance, Gaylod helped me to walk and with my cognition and helped me get back to a somewhat normal life. Dr. Wang helped me work on the connections from my eyes to my brain and sense of balance and vision, this has been the longest to come back for me, Due to Lack of the sense of balance and vision, which was a horrible feeling, I was very motivated in doing all the exercised that Dr. Wang’s program has provided. Dr. Wang is wonderful to work with. My current condition with my eyes and lack of sense of the movement have greatly improved. I am living an almost normal life. — Patient R.G.
